How Ai is Affecting Women

Why Women Can’t Afford to Sit Out on AI

So here’s the thing: studies are showing women are adopting AI tools at much lower rates than men. And honestly? I’m not surprised. So many women I talk to whisper things like, “But isn’t that cheating?” or “I don’t want people thinking I’m some robot in disguise.”

Let me set the record straight: if AI is cheating, then so is your washing machine. Nobody ever said,

“Wow, Susan, you didn’t scrub your clothes on a rock by the river—shame on you.” Tools exist to make life easier, and AI is just the newest one on the shelf.

Here’s the problem: when we step back out of fear, we risk falling behind. And unlike the laundry, this isn’t something you can toss in a basket and get to later.

AI Isn’t a Fad, It’s the Future

AI isn’t going away. It’s shaping how we work, how we communicate, and yes—even how we manage our families. If women sit this one out, our careers suffer. And worse, the technology suffers too.

Think about it: AI learns from the people who use it. If women’s voices aren’t part of the mix, then AI is basically a boys’ club learning only from guys named Chad who think “synergy” is still a buzzword. No, thank you.

This Isn’t Cheating, It’s Empowering

AI doesn’t replace your brilliance—it amplifies it. It’s the sous-chef in your kitchen, the co-pilot in your car, the friend who reminds you what you were about to say before you forgot.

It frees your time, sparks ideas, and helps you show up with more clarity and creativity. Picture this: instead of saying, “I’m too old for this tech stuff,” you’re saying, “I’m shaping what comes next.”

Now that’s a narrative worth owning.

The Bottom Line

Ladies, this is our moment. We can either sip our tea and say, “AI is scary, maybe later,” or we can stir in some honey, roll up our sleeves, and say, “Move over, I’ve got this.”

So don’t sit out. Get curious. Play with it. Use AI to amplify you. Because the future shouldn’t just be built by the people who were first in line—it should be built by all of us.

Because the only thing worse than falling behind is letting someone else’s voice shape the future without yours in it.

My next blog will share how to use Ai ethically and how to keep your authentic voice and not feel like you are cheating. Until next tiime!
